Kara certainly seized the day! She had lunch with her girlfriends, who were so sweet to shower her with gifts. She’s jazzed about her new fits, especially the swag from her favorite downtown burger joint, Armored Gardens.

This morning was fairly typical, Kara—she bossed me around like the pro she is, keeping me on task as always. Honestly, I’m not sure how I’d function without her organizational skills. She was thrilled to run errands, make a Starbucks run, do some last minute hustle and bustle holiday shopping at Von Maur, have lunch with her friends, and end the day with a visit to her oncologist.

Dr. Aggarwal, is a familiar face—he’s treated her before, and it’s comforting to have that connection right now. And leave it to Kara to be genuinely excited about seeing her cancer doctor. Just look at her—have you ever seen someone this happy to tackle such a tough road? She truly is the sweetest.

The big update for today: we’re postponing her double mastectomy. Kara will have a PET scan on Saturday, and we’ll meet with Dr. Aggarwal on Monday to discuss her treatment plan.

Praying for better news post-holidays and trying so dang hard to keep the faith. Thank you for continuing to keep Kara in your thoughts—it means the world to us.
